The Catholic Faith - Church
Catholicism is a broad term for the body of the Catholic faith, its theologies and doctrines, its liturgical, ethical, spiritual, and behavioral characteristics, as well as a religious people as a whole.
The Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, is the world s largest Christian church with more than a billion members, approximately one-sixth of the world s population. The number of practicing Catholics worldwide, however, is not reliably known.
The Catholic Church is one of the oldest continuous Christian institutions in the world and has played a prominent role in the history of western society. It teaches that it was founded by Jesus Christ, that its bishops are related from the beginning to the original apostles, and that the Pope as the successor of St. Peter. The Catholic Faith works through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Church's worship is centered on the Eucharist, in which, according to Church teaching, bread and wine become the body of Jesus Christ himself. Other distinctive doctrines include Purgatory, Papal infallibility, and the immaculate conception and bodily assumption of Mary into heaven of Mary Blessed Virgin.
The Catholic Church is the first church. All other churches formed from the Catholic church. That is my believe and I am entitled to my believe.
Jesus said to Peter,
" You are the Rock Peter, and on this Rock I will build my Church "
My Journey to Christ
I am a Catholic Myself and I became a Catholic through the program of the RCIA. IT was wonderful!
I was lost before I found Jesus, or should I say, I was lost before Jesus found me. Jesus is NOT lost, he is around all the time.
Like the story of the lost sheep. Sometimes we loose insight on God and his Son Jesus. Our faith gets weakened and things go wrong. The first thing we decide in our minds is that it is the fault of God, or there is no God because if there was, why did he let things like this happen.
Remember, its not Gods fault, nor the fault of Jesus, but rather the fault of humans.
It is called FREE WILL.
